6/7

Six-seven is the nonsense catchphrase kids shout back at any question, hands bobbing like a scale. It means nothing on purpose. There is no 67 emoji — only shrug combos — so here is a 6/7 you can actually send.

What it actually means

Nobody agrees on what it means, which is the point. The sound comes from Skrilla’s 2024 track “Doot Doot (6 7)”. The gesture — two open hands rocking up and down like a scale that can’t decide — came with the edits: a 6′7″ basketball player, one very committed kid at a game, and then every middle school in America. By the 2025 school year it was the answer to everything. How tall is he? Six seven. What time is it? Six seven. What did you learn today? You already know.

It’s less a word than a reflex. It signals membership (I know the bit), it fills a silence, and it drives adults up the wall — which is most of its value. Dictionary.com made it a word of the year, which took some of the fun out of it. Searches are down by about half from the peak, which is exactly when a fad turns into an in-joke: the people still saying it now mean it.

When you’d send it

  • Any question you refuse to dignify“How was the meeting?” 6/7.
  • The parents’ group chatWhen someone finally asks what the kids keep saying.
  • Teacher to teacher, 3:15pmNo caption needed.
  • The height questionAnyone who asks how tall he is.

Why there’s no emoji for it

People improvise: 6🤷7, a shrug on its own, a video of the hands. Unicode adds emoji for things with a stable meaning, and this has none — that’s the joke and the problem.

6🤷7
The combo

Two digits and a shrug. Reads as a typo in Slack and breaks in half on a narrow screen.

🤷
The shrug

Every shrug in history. Nothing about it says six or seven, so nothing about it says the bit.

⁶🤷⁷
The superscript hack

What the emoji-combo sites offer. Illegible at text size; falls back to boxes on half of Android.

6/7, by Vigil

Vigil’s rule is no words inside icons. This is the set’s one deliberate exception, because here the numbers are the object: big, slashed, leaning like they’re already leaving.

Questions, answered.

What does 67 mean?

Nothing, deliberately. “Six-seven” is a catchphrase from Skrilla’s 2024 song “Doot Doot (6 7)” that kids say — with a two-handed weighing gesture — as the answer to any question. It signals you’re in on the bit, and it annoys adults, which is the point.

Is there a 67 emoji?

No. There is no Unicode emoji for 6/7; people improvise with 6🤷7 or superscript digits. Vigil’s 6/7 icon is a free PNG you can add to Slack or Discord as a custom emoji, save as an iMessage sticker, or use as an SVG.

How do you do the 6-7 hand thing?

Palms up, both hands, one slightly higher than the other, then swap — like weighing two things and refusing to pick. Say “six… seven” on the swap.

Is 67 still a thing?

It peaked in late 2025 and searches have roughly halved since. That is the stage where a fad becomes an in-joke. Sent ironically, it still lands.
